Fiat Lux: "Let there be light."When God created the heavens and the earth, the first thing he did was to separate the dark from the light. This is the first step in the alchemical process, which seeks not to literally turn base metal to gold, but to refine the soul of mankind to the perfection originally ordained by the Creator. It's about dispelling darkness and the beginning of the Great Work. I've recently become interested in the study of alchemy, as practiced by artists such as Albrecht Durer and Hieronymus Bosch.
